Tasting of Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Extra virgin olive oil is a very ancient food, part of the Italian culture

and tradition. Would you like to learn how to taste and recognize an

excellent extra virgin olive oil?  

 

The tasting will be a fascinating insight into the world of Le Marche

(region we are in) olive Oil production. You will meet Lara and Matteo,

two chefs, highly experienced and award winning with olive oil passion.

They will teach you techniques to recognize an excellent olive oil and what

are its most important characteristics.

 

 

 

  • Visit to the organic olive grove near (weather permitting) “ Agra Mater Agriturismo”: enjoy a fascinating introduction to the olive trees and the explanation of different olive cultures from Le Marche. On arrival at Agra Mater, you’ll be welcomed by your knowledgeable hosts before your session gets underway.

 

  • Tasting of four different local olive oils from the best producer of our region under the olive trees. You will have the chance to gain an understanding of what goes in to producing an organic extra virgin olive oil of high quality. We will talk about the different taste and smell of olive oil and you will learn how to taste it using the “strippaggio”(professional technique of EVO tasting). Suggestions will be given about olive oil pairing with food. 

 

Olive oil will be available for purchase and you can bring it home in your checked luggage with no problems. 

 

35 euros per person reservations required

60 euros per person with optional 3 course lunch (highly recomended)

 

The tasting is available for a minimum of 6 participants and it takes about 2 hours. If there are less people in your group you can still experience the tasting just the price will be adjusted to meet the minimum required. (The tasting experience will take place outside in the rolling hills in the morning, if the weather permits. Otherwise you will have our tasting experience inside the restaurant in Agra Mater Agriturismo).
