Lake Como, in Northern Italy’s Lombardy region, is an upscale resort area known for its dramatic scenery, set against the foothills of the Alps. The lake is shaped like an upside-down Y, with three slender branches that meet at the resort town of Bellagio. At the bottom of the southwest branch lies the city of Como, home to Renaissance architecture and a funicular that travels up to the mountain town of Brunate. It is a 5 hour drive from our Farmhouse.

Our favorite things to do there include renting a Ventian boat and have a driver take us around the lake click here

Make sure you have lunch on the small island in the middle of the lake at Locanda dell'Isola Comacina it is truly an experience and reservations are a must. Years ago on a recommendation by friends we went in March for our anniversary and had the entire restaurant to ourselves. The owner provided the most amazing experience we will never forget. They have a set menu that has not changed since 1945 and I have never ate some much in my entire life and probably never will again. We were there four hours and it was the highlight of our trip to Lake Como.
